We would like to thank you in advance for choosing Kervinshof for the proper introduction to the German Hunting Terrier. We are available for assistance for individuals and group training classes. Terrier puppies are funny, loveable, intelligent, high drive and purpose-driven, therefore, they must be exercised and managed properly. They are more fun than you can imagine. They are loyal, love children and love being part of the family. They are very suspicious of strangers. If you don’t have time or the ability to train your dog or if you do not have the proper facilities and kennel to house your dog you are asking for trouble. Most owners/hunters are not trainers and dogs do not come already programmed as a hunting and family dog. Training is an ongoing commitment requiring time, resources, patience, experience, and consistency. The formula for success is: It takes time, knowledge and resources to train a puppy.

Our Training School has experienced and knowledgeable trainers who will train your dog correctly and save all the frustration and misery of an untrained dog. Training versatile gun dogs is a specialty and in particular Jagd Terriers. Meeting a dog’s needs goes far beyond food and being a friend. They must have structure. They need mental stimulation, clear communication, boundaries and consistency. Training is how we give them clarity, and what is to be expected with rules for behavior. Owners often are quick to “blame the dog” in lieu of proper training. We may create “Bad Dogs” who scream and bark when left alone, urinate on the couch, climb over your fence or run off because he does not have a proper kennel.
